Christmas Giving 2024
This year, as always, we will be collecting food and toiletries for the Epsom and Ewell Food Bank. Our collection day is set for December 8th, allowing time for these essential items to be distributed before Christmas.
In addition to food donations, we’ll be gathering financial contributions to support Tearfund’s Christmas appeal. More details on this appeal will be shared in an upcoming December service. Let’s come together to make this Christmas season a little brighter for those in need.
Foodbank Items
If you wish to donate please bring to the service on 8th December.
Fundraising
David, our treasurer, appreciates this is not a good time of year to ask for money. Two years ago we held a “Gold Day” in the run-up to Christmas and this raised a significant amount. Let’s try something similar this year? Small items you may have, that can fetch reasonable amounts, are old fountain pens and propelling pencils. Doesn’t matter if they’re damaged or not. So have a look in the back of the dressing table drawers and, of course, any old items of gold jewellery are always in demand as well. Silver is another good fundraiser. We recently sold a silver cigar case for £170 and a small candlestick for £30. Maybe you have some old silver trays or spoons?
